Malina is entering her third season as an assistant coach at Fusion, where she previously spent two seasons coaching the 18s team before graduating college. She loves the community, high level of competition, and is excited to be back building on that experience this season.
Malina played eight seasons of club volleyball with Columbia Volleyball Academy and Baltimore Elite Volleyball Club. At Mount de Sales Academy, she was a four-year letter winner and helped lead her team to three IAAM A Conference championships (2015, 2017, 2018); the Sailors were consistently ranked in the top 4 of the Baltimore Region High School Sports Polls throughout her high school career, and went undefeated in conference play in 2017. She went on to play at Messiah University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Sports Management in December 2024.
Malina tore her ACL in college, which gave her a whole new appreciation for the game. It was during this time that she got pulled into coaching and discovered an entirely new side of volleyball — one she ended up loving almost as much as playing itself. She loves seeing other people succeed, and that’s what drives her as a coach today.
