Kali started playing volleyball at age 12. She was a three year varsity starter and team captain at Armstrong High School in Minnesota. She played club volleyball at both M1 and MN Select. She was recruited to play collegiately at Augsburg College, a private college in Minneapolis, MN as a middle blocker/hitter.
After college, Kali went back to coach at her Alma mater (Armstrong High School) as the JV Head Coach. While starting her career as a 2nd grade teacher in her very own classroom and pursuing her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, Kali was the Varsity Assistant Coach at Minnetonka High School. She also coached U17 and U18 club volleyball at Club Tonka in Minnetonka, MN. Fun fact, Club Tonka is where our club director (TJ Shultz) began his coaching career. She also helped run the strength and conditioning program at Club Tonka.
Kali continues to play in adult leagues, tournaments, and for fun. Her husband (Tyler Rea) is a Supply Officer in the Navy, and the volleyball community is always the first place they like to get connected with when moving to a new duty station. She just moved to Pennsylvania from the Virginia Beach area, and is very excited to coach U17 Gray with her husband and to be a part of the Fusion family!
